The NRMCA Environmental Task Group’s primary focus is to assist producers in understanding and complying with regulations, while acting as good citizens of the communities in which we operate. Through such actions as environmental training and regulatory assistance in complying with regulations, we help members meet and exceed the environmental challenges they may face. The Task Group is responsible for the creation and implementation of industry-specific publications, as well as educational, recognition and networking programs serving the environmental needs of the ready mixed concrete industry.

The Environmental Task Group also strives to promote opportunities for successful partnerships with Federal, State and Local regulatory agencies, in order to proactively address environmental issues that affect the ready mixed concrete industry in a manner that is beneficial to both the environment and ready mixed concrete industry.  The task group works with the Building Codes and Sustainability Committee as a conduit to the green building movement, as well as other opportunities within the green building movement for the concrete industry. Additionally, the task group manages the NRMCA Green-Star Certification Program, the course content for NRMCA's Environmental Certification Course, and it also conducts the Environmental Excellence Awards each year.
